Day 2 in Boston - Update for parents and all followers of the USA Music Tour - Great day out!

Well, what a great day in Boston for us all,
An early morning rise, where the Barker Musos enjoyed waffles, hot chocolate, bagels etc in true form and made sure they were not leaving the Hotel hungry!

We headed to Boston Latin Public School, where luminaries such as Leonard Bernstein studied, and there we had a great performance with the school students, then they also performed for us and we enjoyed some great music. The Barker kids were welcomed and received thunderous applause for their performances.

Prior to that we went on a morning trip down through Boston Common and also visited the famous Faneuil Hall, the home of the free speech in Boston and the place where many famous orators have visited, Barack Obama, just two weeks ago! Here the students performed a great version of 'The Star Spangled Banner'.

This afternoon the students performed inside the Faneuil Hall Marketplace and then enjoyed some free time to eat some local fare and then they came back to the hotel to change for the evening performance at St Mary - St Catherine Parish Church.

Here the students topped off a great day with an excellent programme, and really did themselves proud to a large and very receptive audience.

On return to the hotel, the cold winter weather was setting in with the chance of snow overnight. Amazing to think we were in the Sydney summer only two days ago! See some of the photos and footage included below. 12.30 am so time to check out and sleep. Dr M.
